Born and raised in Alabama, Calvin received a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from the University of Alabama and an Masters in Executive Leadership from Liberty University. Calvin's interest in real estate began on the appraisal side, having worked in many local tax assessor's offices. He moved from Alabama to Charlotte when he was offered a managing role on the Appeals Team for the Mecklenburg County Reevaluation in 2019.

A father of six, he and his wife avidly participate in their community and he volunteers for SWIPE (Sister Walking for Purpose and Excellence), MedAssist NC, Live the Promise. He is also an honorary officer of the United States Air Force, and the United States Marine Corps.
